Oinkoin Pro Features — Now Available In-App in the Free App

We have some exciting news: all Oinkoin Pro features are now available as a one-time in-app purchase directly inside the free Android Oinkoin app.

That means you can unlock everything Pro has to offer — backups and restore, recurring records, multiple wallets, budgets, extra icons and colors, custom date ranges, PDF export and more — without downloading a second app.

Why We Did This

Until now, getting Pro features meant installing a separate app. If you were already using the free app, that came with friction:

A second install (and a second icon wondering which one to open).
Manually exporting a backup from one app and importing it into the other.
The risk of losing a record or two somewhere along the way.

With Pro built into the app you already use, all of that disappears. One app, one purchase — and your data simply stays where it is.

What This Means for Existing Oinkoin Pro Users

Nothing changes unless you want it to:

The separate Oinkoin Pro app stays. It will continue to receive regular updates, and everything you’ve paid for keeps working exactly as before.
Both apps remain fully supported side by side. Use whichever fits you best.
Your data is not touched by this change in any way.

How to Get Pro Features in the Free App

Open the free Oinkoin app on Android.
Go to Settings → Premium (or tap any Pro feature).
Complete the one-time Lifetime Pro purchase through Google Play.

The upgrade applies instantly, on this device and any device where you restore purchases with the same Google account.

F-Droid Users

This change does not affect the F-Droid version of Oinkoin. The F-Droid build remains fully featured as always, with no billing involved.

FAQ

Does the app depend on Google Play Services or include extra permissions? The free version of Oinkoin includes the INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and BILLING permissions in its manifest — Google Play’s in-app billing library requires them to process the one-time Pro purchase. These permissions are used only for that purchase step. Opening the app, adding expenses, viewing statistics, and creating backups all continue to work fully offline, and your financial data is never sent anywhere. The standalone Pro and F-Droid versions don’t include Play Billing at all, so they don’t include the internet permissions either, and have no billing code.

Is Oinkoin still an offline app? Yes. All your expenses, categories, budgets, and backups are stored locally and are never uploaded to any server. The only exception is the optional one-time Pro purchase in the free Android app, which briefly talks to Google Play to process the payment — nothing else about the app requires network access.

Can I still trust Oinkoin? Sure! The entire code is available on GitHub for anyone to read it, and the distribution on the store happens also on GitHub via GitHub Actions.

Is my data affected? No. Buying Pro inside the free app doesn’t move, export, or modify any of your records.

Will the Oinkoin Pro app be removed? No. It stays on Google Play and continues to receive regular updates.
